ITINERARIES THROUGH THE TOWN

In the site visitors may request a guided visit that explains and shows the most important historical and architectonic places of the town, particularly the inhabited and the necropolises. At the same time it is possible to choose thematic itineraries in order to deepen the knowledge of the town from privileged points of view.


 Therefore visitors make choose amongst the following itineraries:
  1. The itinerary which goes along the inhabited area
    - the extra-mural area
    - the urban gate and the fortifications
    - the inhabited area with its streets and quarters
    - the features of the dwellings

  2. The Sacred Places
    - the temple of the inhabited area with the latest acquisitions
    - the tophet: burial place and sanctuary of the children

  3. The Necropolises
    - area of the ancient Phoenician necropolis
    - the Punic hypogean necropolis made up of 13 underground rooms
